FranchiseFranchise Finals Appearances
Measures the total number of NBA Finals appearances a franchise has made. Finals appearances capture sustained organizational competitiveness — making the Finals requires winning through multiple playoff rounds. Some franchises have a rich Finals history even without always winning (e.g., the Knicks made many Finals in the 1970s). This feeds the FPI formula's "Finals Presence" component.
